Custom floral centerpieces, sized so people can talk across the table

ONY designs floral centerpieces in Salt Lake City for weddings, events, and dinners at home across the Wasatch Front. Tell us your table shape, your colors, and your budget, and we build arrangements that look great and stay out of the way. The main rule we follow is line of sight: a centerpiece should be low enough to see over or tall enough to see under — never stuck at face height where it blocks the people across from you.

That means we design low, lush arrangements under about 12 to 14 inches, or tall arrangements above about 24 inches on slender stands. Either way, your guests can see each other and the flowers add to the table instead of fighting it.

What we design and what's included

  • Low & lush compotes — full, rounded arrangements that look good from every seat.
  • Tall statement arrangements — raised on slender stands so guests talk underneath them.
  • Bud vase clusters — small bottles holding a few stems each, grouped for an airy, cost-effective look.
  • Garland runners — lush greenery and flowers down the length of long farm or king's tables.
  • Candles and vessel rentals — tapers, pillars, and votives in glass to meet fire code, plus vases and stands available to rent.

Why Salt Lake City event planners choose ONY

  • We design strictly to line of sight, so no centerpiece blocks a single guest's face.
  • We pick low-fragrance flowers for dining tables — like hydrangeas, dahlias, and orchids — so the flowers don't fight the food.
  • Renting our vessels means you don't buy dozens of vases you'll never use again.
  • We use eco-friendly mechanics — floral frogs and chicken wire over toxic floral foam wherever possible.
  • We design for your table shape, from 60-inch rounds to long rectangular tables.

How to book

  • 1. Tell us about your tables. Share the shape, size, and count, plus your colors and any photos. Call (970) 708-4682 or use our contact page.
  • 2. We recommend a style. Low, tall, bud vase, or a mix — with an itemized price per table.
  • 3. Book your date. A deposit holds your date and reserves any rental vessels you need.
  • 4. We build and deliver. We arrange, deliver, and place them, then collect rented vases during cleanup.

Centerpieces for every kind of table

We design centerpieces for wedding receptions, corporate luncheons, and dinner parties at home. For long king's tables we often run a garland or a rhythm of bud vases down the spine; for rounds we build a single focal piece that reads well from every seat. Hosting at home? We deliver ready-to-place arrangements — set it down, light the candles, done. Need flowers for the whole event, not just the tables? See our event flower service and our wedding flowers, both serving Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas.

Centerpiece pricing

A good rule of thumb is $100 to $200 per table for low, lush designs, and $250 to $450 per table for large elevated designs. The final price depends on the flowers and the vessel. Renting our vases and stands instead of buying them keeps more of your budget on the flowers themselves.

Choosing the right flowers and venue

For dining tables we lean on hardy, low-scent blooms that hold up in a warm room — garden roses, orchids, hydrangeas, and ranunculus — and skip strongly fragrant flowers that clash with the meal. We design centerpieces for ballrooms and dining rooms across the area, including The Grand America and venues listed in the Visit Salt Lake guide. For mountain receptions, the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley is one we know well.

Floral Centerpiece FAQs

How tall should a centerpiece be?

Keep it shorter than about 12 to 14 inches so guests can see over it, or taller than about 24 inches on a slender stand so they can see under it. The height in between blocks faces, so we design strictly to those ranges.

Can I rent the vases for my event?

Yes. For weddings and events, all our hard goods — vases, stands, candelabras, and compotes — are available for rent. That is far cheaper and more sustainable than buying 20 or more vessels you'll only use once.

What does a centerpiece cost?

A good rule of thumb is $100 to $200 per table for low, lush designs, and $250 to $450 per table for large elevated designs. The final price depends on the flowers and the vessel you choose.

Can I order a single centerpiece for a dinner party?

Of course. You can order a single custom centerpiece for entertaining at home. We just need the shape and approximate size of your table so the scale of the design is right.

How far in advance do I need to book?

For a single dinner party arrangement, 3 to 5 days is enough. For weddings or large events that need multiple matching centerpieces, book 3 to 6 months ahead to secure the date and the specific flowers.

Can I bring my own vases?

Yes, but they must be clean, watertight, and delivered to our studio 3 days before the event. We can't arrange flowers in dirty or leaking vessels.
